The Changeling’s Bookshop: Dark Muse is the first in a new series featuring Elara Reed, an unlikely heroine who must come to terms with her fae heritage as she travels through time and faces the Leanan Sidhe — the Dark Muse.
When we meet Elara, she is perfectly content running a bookshop in the Pacific Northwest. Her life seems simple on the surface, though she has always been a little different. She has an internal compass that lets her simply know things. And she has a cat named Pangur who has a habit of speaking directly into her mind.
Everything changes when, while treasure-hunting at an estate sale, she discovers a manuscript called The Undead — the original notes for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The book calls to her, and she senses that its author urgently needs help — even though he lived more than a hundred years in the past.
To her astonishment, Elara finds herself in late Victorian London, Pangur at her side. She will encounter Bram Stoker himself, the poet W.B. Yeats, and a host of other fascinating figures from the age. She will also come face to face with a deadly enemy — the Dark Muse, who intends to use Stoker’s manuscript to corrupt and consume the greatest creative minds of the era.
Elara is part fae. A changeling. And time is running out.
